About Mantyx
Mantyx is at the forefront of innovation with its AI-powered surgical co-pilot, designed to enhance surgical intelligence. Combining advanced computer vision and surgical phase recognition, Mantyx delivers real-time, procedure-aware insights to optimize outcomes for surgical teams. By integrating live video, device signals, and clinical expertise, Mantyx ensures a patient-centric approach across every stage of surgery, from pre-operative planning to post-operative analysis.
We are now introducing AI in robotic surgery through a smart assistant that brings scattered information to the surgeon’s fingertips via a voice-controlled interface, improving patient outcomes, sharpening surgical focus, and increasing hospital efficiency.
Your Role
We’re looking for a Software Developer to help build the software that powers our surgical AI co-pilot, from cloud backend services and data pipelines to the interfaces our AI engineers and clinical partners rely on.
You’ll take ownership of features end-to-end, from design through deployment, and act as a technical reference for junior engineers on the team. This is a hands-on role in a small, fast-moving team where your decisions directly shape how the platform scales.
What You Will Do
Design, build, and maintain backend services and APIs that connect our cloud infrastructure, data pipelines, and clinical-facing applications
Take end-to-end ownership of features — from technical design through implementation, testing, and deployment
Review code and provide technical guidance to junior developers, helping raise the overall quality bar
Work closely with AI engineers to integrate video, sensor, and clinical data processing components into production systems
Contribute to architecture and technical decisions as the platform scales to more hospitals and use cases
Help strengthen our CI/CD pipeline, testing practices, and engineering processes
Your Profile
Must-Haves
3–5+ years of professional software development experience, with strong Python and/or TypeScript skills
A master's degree / PhD in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or equivalent practical experience
A track record of shipping and owning production features end-to-end, not just contributing to them
Solid understanding of API design, data structures, testing practices, and version control workflows
Comfort working across the stack, from backend services to the systems that feed our data pipelines
Ability to mentor and unblock junior developers, and to communicate technical trade-offs clearly
Fluent in Dutch and English
Nice-to-Haves
Experience with cloud infrastructure (AWS, GCP, or Azure) and containerization (Docker/Kubernetes)
Exposure to computer vision, machine learning, or video/data pipelines
Experience in a regulated environment (healthcare, medtech, finance, or similar)
Prior experience at a startup or as an early engineer — comfortable creating structure, not just following it
