About Mantyx
Mantyx is at the forefront of innovation with its AI-powered surgical co-pilot, designed to enhance surgical intelligence. Combining advanced computer vision and surgical phase recognition, Mantyx delivers real-time, procedure-aware insights to optimize outcomes for surgical teams. By integrating live video, device signals, and clinical expertise, Mantyx ensures a patient-centric approach across every stage of surgery, from pre-operative planning to post-operative analysis.
We are now introducing AI in robotic surgery through a smart assistant that brings scattered information to the surgeon's fingertips via a voice-controlled interface, improving patient outcomes, sharpening surgical focus, and increasing hospital efficiency.
Your Role
We’re looking for a Junior Software Developer to join our engineering team as we build the software that powers our surgical AI co-pilot, spanning cloud backend services, data pipelines, and the interfaces our AI engineers and clinical partners rely on.
You’ll work closely with senior engineers on real, shipping features from day one — not side projects. This is a hands-on role in a small, fast-moving team, so you’ll get direct mentorship, broad exposure across the stack, and the chance to grow quickly as our platform scales.
What You Will Do
Build and maintain features across our backend services and internal tools, working mainly in Python and/or TypeScript
Write clean, tested, well-documented code and get comfortable with code review as a two-way conversation
Help build and maintain APIs that connect our cloud backend, data pipelines, and clinical-facing applications
Support the integration and testing of components that process video, sensor, and clinical data
Work with senior engineers to debug issues, improve performance, and harden our CI/CD pipeline
Contribute to internal documentation and tooling as the engineering team and processes mature
Your Profile
Must-Haves
A master's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or equivalent practical experience
0–2 years of professional or substantial project experience with Python, TypeScript/JavaScript, or a similar language
A solid grasp of programming fundamentals: data structures, version control (Git), APIs, and basic testing practices
Curiosity and a genuine drive to learn — you ask questions, look things up, and aren’t afraid to say “I don’t know yet”
Comfort working in a small, cross-functional team (engineers, AI specialists, clinical experts)
Fluent in English and Dutch
Nice-to-Haves
Exposure to cloud platforms (AWS, GCP, or Azure) and containerization (Docker)
Basic familiarity with computer vision, machine learning, or data pipelines
Interest in healthcare, medtech, or regulated software environments
Personal projects, open-source contributions, or internships you’re proud to talk about
